The City of Markham is in the process of designing stormwater drainage system upgrades in our neighbourhood. These upgrades provide local flooding relief during large rainfall events and were recommended as part of the West Thornhill Stormwater Flood Remediation Class EA Study completed in 2010.
During the period of April 8, 2019 and May 31, 2019, field work is scheduled in order to assist with the system design. This field work will include underground utility location (paint markings) and investigative test pits to verify information the location of underground utilities. We expect the impact to Royal Orchard residents to be quite minimal, as the field work is generally confined to a small area and completed within a short period of time.
If you have any general questions concerning the upcoming Phase 4 (Royal Orchard and Romfield area) work, please feel free to contact Robert J. Muir (Manager, Stormwater – Environmental Services for Markham) at (905) 477-7000 ext. 2894.
